The following
decorative plaster finishes are manufactured
by Safra Colors in Italy - a market leader
in restoration products who work hand-in
hand
with specialist craftsmen on major restoration
projects in Italy.
Veneziano
A resin-based Venetian plaster that can be created
in any color or bi-color combination.Veneziano
is highly durable and can be washed with most
detergents.
Calcenova
Safra's version of Venetian plaster
utilising 100% lime and minerals for "restoration
approved" applications. Calcenova is breathable,
has a slightly less shiny finish, feels more
like stone, and has a more earthy appearance.
Mantovano
Originating from the ancient city
of Mantua, this plaster dates back to the Renaissance.
From Tuscan colors to palatial off-whites, Stucco
Mantovano is highly resonant of and can be seen
throughout Italy.
Fiorentino
This stucco gives a soft matte
appearance to walls and ceilings. It is a smooth,
soothing effect, but surprisingly easy to clean.
Often used on transition walls and hallways,
it is ideal as an alternate plaster to Veneziano.
Marmorino
A 100% lime-based plaster which
meets restoration requirements, the finish is
matte in appearance with black or white Carrera
marble rock pieces showing through. Again, this
finish can be found throughout Italy, inside
and outside.
Murs d' Art
A popular finish with the appearance
and texture of stone, but which is surprisingly
smooth to the touch. Though a Venetian plaster,
the look is Spanish.
Travertino
A 100% lime-based plaster meeting
restoration requirements, this plaster is excellent
for columns, fireplaces, and walls where there
is indirect lighting -- as the light of the
day changes, the cut of the plaster reflects
light differently to bring out different shades.
This plaster can have the appearance of unpolished
Travertine Stone.
Fresconova
Plaster with a hint of grit! This
authentic plaster was used 100 years ago and
before the invention of fine mesh filters.
Aquarello
A rough texture finish that creates
the look of a rustic, country home. It is durable
and resistant to graffiti. Safra's own building
is covered with this finish -- it is suitable
for indoor and outdoor use.
Stucco Romano
A beautiful indoor, waxed
finish, which rag rollers try (but fail!) to
emulate.
